England May 18 – 24, 2018 This is a very loose itinerary, it probably will change a little.

May 18, 2018 – travel by train from Edinburgh to York. We will spend today visiting Quackers and possibly one other program. For the rest of the afternoon and evening we will visit cultural and historical sites in York.

May 19, 2018 – We will attend the training Natural Play in Early Childhood: Nurturing Deep Foundations for a Lifetime of Connection with Nature facilitated by Early Childhood Outdoors. We will be their first International Study Visit! Stay tuned for more details.

This afternoon we will continue our journey by train from York to London. There should be some time to see some of the sights or maybe relax and go to a nice dinner.

May 20th we will go to Stonehenge, Bath and Lacock or Stonehenge and Hampton Court. Both of these tours sound pretty amazing and must see while in England.

May 21st – Tour a forest nursery or other program and explore London history and culture.

May 22nd – Tour a forest nursery or other program and take the rest of the day on your own to prepare for the trip home or explore more of London.

May 23rd – 9:30 am – 10:00 am visit The Diana, Princess of Wales’ Memorial Playground. Depending on out tour on the 21st and 22nd we may be able to visit the playground one of those mornings. The rest of the day will be free.

May 24th – Travel home depending on your flight time you might be able to squeeze in a little more of London culture.  We will travel by the Tube to Heathrow airport.

There will be some flexibility and possibly opportunities to go to a show such as Wicked, go on other tours or something else of interest. We will also spend time in class discussing what we have observed at the forest nursery’s, how we can incorporate some of their practices into our own programs. Brain storm regulatory issues that might come up and brainstorm ideas to work with Government agencies so you are able to offer the program you want.
