At this time all scheduled classes are interactive webinars except some CPR classes – you will need a device with a camera, microphone and speakers to participate.
The Family Child Care (FCC) Scholarship can be used to pay for any of our set 2 or 3 classes including home study modules. You can find the online application at PSU – OCCD. There are also reimbursement funds for CPR and first aid training you can learn more at WOU. At this time we are offering a very discounted rate for additional participants from the same setting.

June 5, 2023 6 PM to 9 PM De-escalation: A Fancy Word for Helping A Child Calm Who Can’t Do It By Themselves – Set 2; 3 hours; UGB– This course will examine the curve of escalation to understand how best to approach a situation at different times. You will learn and practice methods to help children calm when they need adult support and practice keeping yourself calm in the moment. This class will explore how to apply nutrition guidelines and encourage children to participate in the preparation of healthy foods. June 12, 2023 6 PM to 9 PM How to Implement an Inclusive Environment to Serve Children with ADHD – Set 2; 3 hours; SN; All ages – In this class we will explore modifications to teaching styles, schedules, and environments to allow for the inclusion of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in its 3 currently identified presentations. Investigate how play activities promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical developmental domains and link to brain processes. When is biting a normal developmental stage and when is it concerning? How to document incidents. Practice using effective techniques for conversations with parents after biting incidents.
