This training helps you to understand how blood born pathogens spread and how you should handle situations with blood and body fluids should an accident occur.
Good Samaritan –CPR (adult, child, infant), AED and First Aid to individuals who are required by regulations to become or stay certified in this life saving training. She also encourages community members to take this important training. We never know when or for whom we may need to use these life saving skills. Our Training is consistent with the 2023 American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, CPR and ECC guidelines.Training meets national Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and Oregon Office of Child Care requirements.
I teach in a low stress environment and focus on participants learning the plan and the skills they will need in a medical emergency. The goal is for you to feel confident to use the skills when you leave class.
If you complete our Zoom training and are required to do skills assessment in person coordinate a time with Faye. We regularly offer in person skills assessments in SE Salem and in Tigard.
The Effects of Stress, Violence, Trauma, and Abuse on Child Development

Develop new knowledge about current research on the effects of stress, violence, trauma, and abuse on brain development. Develop strategies to support the development of children who have experienced stressful conditions, and strategies to minimize the exposure of children to stress and trauma.
Participants will examine emergency plans and discuss how to implement these plans into their policies and required drills. We will discuss how to select and/or develop curriculums and implement them in their programs to teach children about fire and other emergencies and natural disasters.
You can complete these trainings at home at your own pace.
Exploring Methods to Support Children with Feeding Issues

Come to this class to explore feeding issues that some children may experience and techniques to support children to eat safely. Examine the range of expert assistance available and any and all necessary training that may be needed.
Picky eating is usually at its worst in toddler and preschool years. This class will explore educating parents about picky eating and nutrition and methods to support children to try new things, eat healthy, and listen to their bodies.
Trauma-informed care involves educating providers on the impact of childhood trauma on children. This class will study the signs and symptoms of trauma on children and those supporting them. Participants will learn ways to build environments, practices and policies that prevent further trauma.
