We will explore adaptations and modifications to the environment to allow for inclusion. We will also explore some common outdoor activities and examine adaptations to them that might allow for inclusion of children with disabilities.

This class will explore some new high-tech resources that assist children with disabilities to be included in typical child care settings. We will also examine some tools providers can create themselves to assist children with disabilities.

We will discuss and create a plan to develop an environment for children on the autism spectrum including adaptations in the environment, curriculum, guidance, and mealtimes. This training will examine Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. We will examine new research and known distinctions of the disability. The class will cover strategies for child care providers to assist with inclusion of children with FASD in typical child care settings.

This class will examine dissociative disorders seen in children. This is a complex mental health disorder thought to be a response to early childhood trauma. There are currently 4 recognized forms of Dissociative Disorder we will discuss each of them. This class will explore mental health interventions and how to access mental health resources for the child and family if they are not already in place. We will explore partnering with families because it is critical to support a child with this disability who is being served in early childhood care settings.

Come to this class to explore a range of complex childhood mental health disorders including bipolar disorder. Participants will have the chance to examine how bipolar disorder presents in childhood and the other names used for it. We will examine strategies for working with children with these disorders. We will explore systems to communicate in positive ways with families.
