Learn how outdoor learning environments are healthy experiences for children of all ages. Learn how children learn healthy habits while enjoying outdoor environment.
All providers, substitute providers, and Assistant IIs must complete one hour of training in the core knowledge category of Health, Safety, and Nutrition each year.

Infant/Toddler – Pre-school

Participants will research and compare several play theories, including the influences on play. You will gain knowledge on using the play observation tools, use the results to make changes to your curriculum and environment, and evaluate and assess the use of these play observation tools in your setting.
You will need to purchase “Play The Pathway from Theory to Practice” to complete the course work. We recommend finding it used for best prices.
Please complete the self-guided training before the FCC scholarship funds are exhausted or before the expiration date of June 30, 2025. We cannot guarantee submissions after June 15, 2025, will be completed in time to qualify for the scholarship.
If you are working on multiple modules, please submit each one as you complete it, rather than sending them all together at once.

Participants will examine how areas of development are linked to how children learn. You will explore activities to advance children’s brain development and learning.
You will need to purchase “Start Smart, Building Brain Power In The Early Years” to complete the course work. We recommend finding it used for best prices.
